I bought this receiver to control a home theater system that includes a 32" Samsung LCD TV, DirecTV, Bose Acoustimass 15 speakers and an XBOX 360. I wanted a receiver that had HDMI capabilities, but allowed the HDMI video to go to the TV while keeping the audio with the receiver and speakers.

With other receivers you have to do some sort of "work around" to make this happen. Not with the Onkyo! The set up was simple and now I have the excellent HDMI audio going through the Bose and the HDMI video going right to the LCD TV. Sound is phenomenal across the board. Zone 2 feature is excellent too! I highly recommend this receiver.

I am very happy with the video/audio quality and ease of use for this camera. The other positive reviews of this camera sum up my feelings fairly well.The one point that I do want to make in this review is: Don't expect to use the TRV10 as a still camera.The maximum resolution of 640 X 480 does not provide enough detail except for posting low-res pictures on a web site or sending in e-mail. I bought a 6-color photo printer that is not being used to its capabilities because of the low quality of the stills.I wish I had tested the still photos in advance, but no stores had this camera, so I bought it on-line. If I could go back in time, I would buy the TRV8, which gives you just about everything you need for video. I would then use the $200+ I saved towards buying a real digital camera. Mustek PVR-H140 Personal Media Center Review

I really have a single use for this little beauty: my digital DVD/Hard Drive unit will NOT record my premium cable channels. My cable provider (or the channels, themselves) clearly sends some sort of proprietary signal that disables recording of STARZ, HBO, CinemMax, etc. Yes, I could record to plain VCR (yes, I still have one) and I am sure there are more elegant solutions *but* I wanted to generate DVDs and NOT more VHS tapes. SO, solution: the Mustek. It records ANYTHING that comes across your TV. If you hit your TV's MENU button while you are recording to the Mustek, it will record that. It runs off you TV - not the cable; anything and everything. I have also managed to convert some of my 6 hour VHS tape archives to digital video using this method.

Now, its a simpler - if not a perfect - system. I record video (in HQ mode) to my Mustek, USB the file(s) to my PC, and burn them to DVD on my PC's drive. The quality is excellent, at least for my eyes and preferences. I am quite sure the inventors at Mustek wanted their gem used in such a simple system but it certainly does what I expected and needed.

And, though I seldom use them, the other functions (playing and viewing the video or JPEG photos from the Mustek LED, MP3 player, and even storing backup PC files to the hard drive or external - optional - SD card) are quite acceptable as well. For my purposes, as outlined previously, this has been a very useful and cost-effective device. Construction quality is GOOD, the LED screen is quite bright enough and the PC interface is seamless.

my wife purchased this computer at wal-mart a week ago. i have to say i'm real surprised, first at the price at second at what a great buy it was. it was on sale for $358.00. the setup was easy and the computer is really a pleasant surprise. it is very fast and has a lot of options i like in a computer. we decided on an acer after she bought me an acer notebook for my birthday last year. it too is a really great computer. this laptop was only $59.00 more than my notebook. i'm by no means an expert on computers, but for what we will need it for, it will be great. i highly recommend this to anyone who really knows their way around a computer. i'm not one for doing really precise and long reviews, but take my word for it, you would love this computer. i'm sure many morereviews will come up on this computer than will go into greater detail than i have, but from my own experience with it, I LOVE IT !!!!!

TILT TRANSFORMER: $250 is a bit expensive for the tilt base, I think. Consider that a decent non-tilting base can be had for well under $50. While this does do its job, it can be quite finicky to use. Its hard to set the base for the exact amount of resistance you want. Your Nikon lens will tend to be too stiff (but not locked in place) or flop around. It would be nice if it had a one-button locking mechanism so you could move it quickly and just freeze it. The same button that locks the Nikon lens in place also sets the aperture. Its easy to turn too far and unlock the entire lens. Anyone buying this should keep in mind that pretty much all Nikon lenses will balance pretty poorly on the NEX bodies to begin with so you can't really grab the NEX body like a DSLR and operate the lens setup with your left hand. I find myself using my right hand to tilt the lens while my left hand stabilizes the tilt base, meaning my right hand is off of the shutter button. I find that I often have to stabilize the entire thing against my body while tilt and turn things, which means I can't keep my eye on the screen as I make adjustments. That said, this is not meant to be a setup for fast, super-critical work. I just imagined that a Lensbaby setup would be much easier to use on a NEX than a DSLR but that's not always true. Once you have the lens tilted correctly and the aperture set though, manual focus is a breeze on the NEX, especially with peaking turned on.

COMPOSER FRONT: Keep in mind that you can stick a Nikon Lensbaby on the front of the tilt base and it will work just fine or better. This can save lots of us a few bucks since I'd imagine lots of people buying this already have a Nikon Lensbaby. Some may also prefer the Muse or Control Freak on the front. The part that comes with this setup requires that you screw an adapter on the front of the optic. This makes changing apertures a total pain; you have to unscrew the adapter to get to the aperture ring. This adds an extra step and one more thing to drop, but it is more compact than sticking a Nikon Lensbaby in front. Also, this is not compatible with the Fisheye optic while using a Nikon Lensbaby in front is.

BARSKA 4-16x50 IR Tactical Riflescope Review

I mounted this scope on a RRA LAR-8 for hunting and long distance range shooting. It is a very good looking scope and seemed to be top quality. I didn't have a boresighter so I just shot it on paper at 25' and had it zeroed in only 4 shots. I then took it out to 200 yds and was cutting bullet holes. I couldn't wait to get it in the field. The first and only hunt I've had it on was a cold rainy day in WV. When I first got out I checked it and everything looked clear even though it had rain drops on it. As I got deeper into the woods it began to fog up and I had to wipe it every once in a while. When it came time to shoot I had an 8 point heading toward me in a full run and when I pulled up it was like shooting in the fog. I could see well enough to get the shot but it was not easy. I've hunted Tasco, Weaver, Redfield, etc. and have never had this problem. This scope is "fogproof" but not if it's 45 degrees and raining. It's still shooting dead on and performs as well as any scope I've ever owned as long as it's dry. Great for the bench but if you're going to the woods leave this one at home.
