Let me simply say that this tripod is larger and taller than I had expected and is much lighter in weight than I had thought that it would be. The legs are quite substantial and operate very smoothly. They are large in diameter and on level ground with the ball head attached I really don't need the bottom section extended. Even my 6'-2" husband uses the camera at eye level with the lower leg sections only about half extended (and a Giottos MH 3300 ball head). This gives plenty of additional leg length when needed for inclines or stairways (or gymnasium bleachers!).

I had expected this aluminum tripod to weigh more than it does. It is very large, solid and well-built with excellent stability, even with a large ball head and a heavy body/70-200mm f/2.8 lens combo attached. Considering the price, I had expected a lesser quality tripod and more weight. I am very pleased with this purchase and I see it as a bargain when compared to much more expensive or bigger name brand tripods.
