SKB Injection Molded Cubed Foam Equipment Case (18.5 x 13 x 7-Inch) Review

Despite the 2 star rating I am happy with the 18x13x5" version of this case. The hinges are a nice design and are made of glass filled composite. Easy to use and should be very sturdy. The case size is perfect for two pistols plus accessories, and fits in the middle range size that is not common to find. Also has nice foam with two layers being pluck & pull type for a custom layout, and a very comfortable, sturdy handle.

All in all if this was a $60 case it would be a 5 star product all day long. Unfortunately, this is a $120 product and the entire case body is made from a flexible composite that has a lot of give in it in the center. I would not trust it to delicate camera equipment or to get tossed around or ending up at the bottom of a stack of gear.

For this price it should be made of strong/rigid glass filled composite. 2 star rating is purely because of this, for the price this case is not a rigid/sturdy as it should be. It should be half the price or use a better material. Way over priced for the construction.

Based on prices, I thought Square trade was an exceptional deal.However,I was on the phone with the Square trade representative, and found out a little known fact through much questioning.It is a consumable warranty.Which means,when you have a warranty repair done through Square trade, they deduct the price of the repair off the price you paid for the warranted item.Once you reach the value of the item you purchased, your warranty expires immediately.This means if you purchased a $200.00 tablet that needed a warranty repair, and it cost Square trade $100.00 to repair it, they will now deduct that off the price you will get in the future under a total loss - they will only pay you $100.00 left over from the value of the tablet.Another scenario,If you had one,two or more warranty repairs anytime during the warranty period that totals the $200.00(the price you paid for the item initially)you are no longer covered for the remaining time of your warranty - your coverage has been consumed/expired, because you reached the value of the item you bought.I was wondering why the prices were so cheap, now I know!

I've been using this speedlight as part of a Nikon CLS operation with a D700 operating as the master flash (fill) controlling one SB900, and this SB-R200. So far, it's all been portrait work. I'm using the 200 as a back, highlight flash. What's to say? It works well for a close in flash. It is always sitting within 10 feet of its target and I get reliable illumination on every shot. It integrates well with CLS allowing me to control output from the camera.

See my more detailed review on the second listing for this product. I use these for astronomy, which is a more demanding purpose than, say, sports events. The binoculars which are ideal for astronomy are: BaK7 Porro prisms, center focus, wide field (8 degrees) and, in my opinion, 10 x 50 (over 7 x 50), as well as light weight. This model fulfills all of these needs and weighs just two pounds (it is desirable to use them with tripod and tripod adapter for astronomical uses). Naturally they will work very well also for birding and for general purpose.
Vixen is Japanese made and today that means best quality material and workmanship, optically and mechanically. You can buy another pair, Chinese made, which are adequate for half the cost, but in the long run, you aren't getting the lifetime investment you receive with Vixen binoculars. They are worth the little extra outlay.
