With an Orion Narrow Side-by-Side Plate you can easily mount two telescope optical tubes to a single equatorial (EQ) mount. The Wide Side-by-Side plate attaches to an EQ mount equipped with a narrow, or Vixen-style dovetail saddle, and accepts optical tubes outfitted with a narrow dovetail mounting plate. You can also mount an optical tube that is equipped with tube rings attached to a narrow dovetail mounting plate. Having two telescopes mounted side-by-side is a great way to expand your visual observational abilities. You can, for example, attach one telescope optimized for wide-field views and another for high magnification use. Once you have the mount trained on a target object, you can alter between wide-field and high-magnification views by looking through the two different telescopes. Orion 7956 Narrow Side-by-Side Plate Review

I bought one from Orion store today. I have one C8 and one 400mm guide scope. They are very easy to install and balance between two scopes on my EQ6 mount.

I know there are some complaints about some dovetail has screws sticking out from the bottom, and cannot be used in this side by side plate. It happen to my guide scope assembly too. After I replace my screw with a counter sink screw, and modify the bottom of dovetail for the counter sink screw, the problem can be resolved easily. It only cost me 12 dollars and 10 minutes to modify it. This side by side plate feel rock solid. It is not so expensive compare with others. I like it and it works as expected, so I give it 5 stars.

By the way, there are a few tap holes and a few through holes in the middle. You may attache some tool or fixture in those area as needed. Just FYI. Good luck and clear sky.
