What first attracted me to this product was the combination of the tripod / monopod function. I love the Blue color coating of the product. Looks professional and beautiful at the same time.

The tripod arrives packaged in its own product box, extremely sturdy, thick cardboard box, which I like very much as I will use this to store the tripod when not in use.

The carrying bag itself is made of a very sturdy, ballistic type material that at first review seems easy to carry, strong zipper with a pouch for the tools and extras that come with the tripod. The case itself has a molded type shape, not like my other tripod case that has no shape, just a long bag with a zipper and handle.

C5i comes complete with a Arca Swiss compatible FPH-52Q ball with knobs that are comfortable to operate and seems very well made.

The 1 page manual is not very helpful at all. It would have been nice to receive a manual that showed step by step instructions on how to operate the tripod and how to convert to a monopod. I ended up taking my tripod apart completely, which was fun, and putting is back together was very easy. Once I did that, I understood the design of the product and I am now able to convert from tripod to monopod in a few easy steps.

Everything about the design and construction of the tripod/monopod is strong, very well built, no cheap or flimsy parts to cause concern.

I stand at an even 6 ft., and with the monopod completely extended and the camera attached, I actually have to shorten the height. I recently spent the day at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum here in Arizona recently and carried my previous tripod and camera over my shoulder. I cannot wait to be able to do the same with my C5i, except this time I will use the monopod. It is so easy to carry around and the strap is of good quality and I like the feel of the monopod with camera in my hands or over my shoulder as I walk around. I am looking forward to my next picture hiking venture with my Fotopro monopod.

The Tripod/Monopod comes with a small pouch that clips onto your belt loop so that you can half extend the length of your monopod and keep it the camera at eye level and support it all in this pouch. I have only used it here at home, but I like the concept and will provide an update once I get out on my next venture and put it to the test.

I not only recommend this product to anyone looking for a Tripod/Monopod, but am planning on purchasing another one of these for my cousins wedding anniversary, as I know he has been wanting one of these.

July 20, 2013 Update - Heavy heart.
It is with real sadness that I must update that I am returning this product for a full refund.

The only reason I am having to do so is that the female thread from the tripod leg that is used to form the monopod will no longer thread completely into the secondary piece. It seems that the female threads have become damaged after only 3 used to the point I can no longer thread both pieces together. The only reason I can find to this is that the threads are made of a soft metal that allows them to become easily damaged from repeated connection and disconnecting the male vs female threads together.

Although I had no issue with the price, as I would have actually paid more for the piece, I did not feel that I should be encountering this issue so quickly, if ever, for the price one pays. It is really too bad, that such a beautiful Tripod/Monopod would become damaged so quickly.

The manufacturer will need to change the design or quality of materials used, or both, if they expect to have any kind of success with their product. I am going to replace this with a Manfrotto monopod. I will keep you posted as to which one I purchase. I would like to give it zero stars, system does not allow, 1 star qualifies as "hate it" review.
