This would have been a perfect tripod for photography if not for its weight. The latter is the reason I have given the product 4 stars, not 5. It's a bit on the heavy and bulky side, which is expectable at this price point though. If you want a great quality tripod that is also light, you should look at products priced around roughly $700.
Cullmann Magnesit 525M is very well built and provides reliable support for my camera, Sony NEX-5RK/B 16.1 MP Compact Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lenses (Black) . It is a pretty light camera, even when paired with a heavier telescopic lens SEL55210, Sony - (e)mount - 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 Lens for Sony NEX Cameras. I am confident that the tripod will easily carry any full-sized DSLR with much heavier lenses than that.
