I wanted a decent monopod for hiking and thought that the self standing legs would be a nice feature however, a huge disappointment was the legs. When mounted on a flat wood floor, the pod wobles so the self standing feature is useless. The pod is heavy but sturdy. I puchased a swivel ball head and I am very happy. I just wish it wasn't so heavy.
