Our last Uniden cordless system has lasted nearly 6 years but recently a couple buttons became spongy. Saw this deal and went for it. The phones are very nice quality and programmed very similar to earlier models which made installation/operation easy for me. However, following an overnight charge on each phone I noticed that one phone died almost immediately upon first usage and a second phone did not charge at all. I called Uniden's tech support and after about a 20 minute wait got to speak to a very helpful service rep. I learned that this set is a discontinued model and that they were manufactured two years ago! As a new in box set these phones have been in storage since that time which meant that the batteries would have died or since in storage may have been adversly affected. Uniden said that as long as they were purchased from Amazon directly and not a 3rd party they would send me 5 new batteries with proof of purchase! Excellent service.
If you buy this set be aware it may have battery issues but know Uniden will replace them free.
I have a couple more small complaints. There is a small instruction booklet and no manual as in previous models. The distinctive ring list is smaller than in previous models.
What I really like is the larger display on this phone. The speakerphone button is large and easy to find. One can be talking on one phone and you can pick up an extension and join in. Calls can also be made private so picking up an extension will prevent another phone from joining in too.
I have one extension in my downstairs workshop so when the wife needs me she uses the intercom feature which does not interfer with incoming calls.
Overall this is great system and worth the price. Not the latest but entirely adequate for our needs.
