I have two of these scopes. One mounted on my RWS 350 .177 rifle and the other on my RWS 350 .22 rifle. Not only are they very well made they are specifically designed to hold up under the forward/back recoil of air rifles. The Airmax scopes have the added advantage of the MAP-6 reticle and a wider field of view than standard scopes. The MAP-6 reticle allows one to quickly adjust to air rifle trajectories in the field. The scopes hold zero, well, under the stresses of each caliber. I am pleased with them.

That said, I also have a Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40 Mil-Dot on my RWS 94. (.177 caliber) The Sport HD costs 1/2 of what the Airmax costs.

Interestingly, the Airmax and the Sport HD are both rated for all calibers, including heavy spring guns.

If you need the wider field of view and the MAP-6 reticle, purchase the Airmax. If you do not need these things, purchase the Sport HD and save yourself 50%. 4 stars for the Airmax due to the fact that it is almost identical to the Sport HD, which costs about 1/2.

By the way, the Sport HD is an excellent optic for rimfire rifles, as well.
