Is this tripod perfect? No, but for the money it exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is trying not to spend a fortune but wants a solid tripod. Also, I bought it to use with a video camera, and for that it gets 4 stars (see below). If I had been buying this solely for photography, it would be 5 stars.Pluses:
- Feels solid and well made
- Reasonable weight for the cost
- Very stable - totally confident having an expensive video camera or camera on it
- Easy to quickly setup and take down
- You can (and I will) replace the head on it
- Comes with a carrying bag - a small but nice touch
Negative
- If you want to pan with your video camera during a shot, the movement of the head can be jerky at points; clearly for 95% of photography that would not pose a problem, but for video that can be an issue (even then you can get it to work smoothly but it does take more effort and being very conscious of what you're doing but that can distract you from what you are filming).
Nonetheless, the key question is "Would I buy it again?" Absolutely, with no hesitation whatsoever!
